In promoting a positive attitude among the children, the 18-day bicycle event has kicked off for the fourth year around.

Out of the 100 participants, 40 children are from the Xin-Yi Children's Home in Siluo Township of Yunlin County.

When the director of the children's home announced it was time for the trip, kids were ready to begin the 18-day bicycle tour around the island, which includes difficult road sections such as the South-link highway and the Su-hua highway.

But kids say that they have received trainings for this trip so they are not worried.

It's the fourth year of the event.

Besides the 40 kids at the Children's home, there are also children from the community joining the trip, which aims to help the children to develop a positive and upbeat attitude towards life.

The director said the tour is 3 days shorter than previous years, because kids are in better physical conditions in recent years.

Before the trip began, kids were also reminded to drink more water as the weather has been so hot lately.

They look forward to a great success of this year's bicycle tour.
