Incorporating ancient thinking into modern technology can be a good idea after all.

This new finding, a fabric developed from jade powder can make you slightly cooler, and garments made from this textile can significantly reduce the body temperature by 1.2 degrees Celsius.

During the Han Dynasty, many believed that jade had magical properties and could prevent decay.

As a result, members of the royal family were often buried in jade suits. A domestic research team has spent the past two years developing jade fabric.

Hualien jade is first ground into dust, and then pressed into a glistening thread.

The thread is then woven into garments that the team says can lower the body's surface temperature by 1.2 degrees.

The jade garments cost around twice as much as conventional garments, and many manufacturers have expressed interest in working with the research team.

The team believes that annual production value could reach 200 million NT dollars, and is currently meeting with manufacturers to develop new product lines.
