During his meeting with the Yulong Group, Premier Wu Den-yih has promised he will seek to place the auto industry on the second harvest list for ECFA in future negotiations.

Wu adds that a global auto group is already in the talks to invest in Taiwan and the FTA agreements are also in motion, meaning that more and more opportunities may arise to boost Taiwan's economy.

Premier Wu Den-yih and Yulong Group CEO Kenneth Yen placed the plate on Taiwan's first smart car.

Wu said to help Taiwan's auto industry, the government must assist in helping raise the number of Taiwan's self produced cars and to help the auto industry be listed in the second harvest list for ECFA.

After ECFA has been agreed upon, the government is currently seeking global investment in Taiwan.

Wu said a global auto company might set up manufacturing in Changhua Coastal Industrial Park.

The company Wu is referring to is VW, which has already visited Taiwan.

But their decision won't be known until Sept.

The government is also discussing FTA agreements with other countries, which Wu said Japan might be the first one to sign with us.

The government has been trying to show that ECFA is beneficial to Taiwan.

But what Taiwanese citizens want to see are actual results.
