Internationally acclaimed baker Wu Pao-chun recently got a perfect chance to open a new bakery in Kaohsiung. The site for his new store is not only spacious and ideally-located, but totally rent-free, all thanks to the generosity of a fellow Pingdong native of the baker's. Famous Taiwanese baker Wu Pao-chun planned to open his first bakery in Kaohsiung, hoping to set it up near the Siziwan Bay. But he hadn't been able to find one in the past four months due to a limited budget. However, a phone call gave him a great mental boost. A land developer in Kaohsiung decided to offer a storefront space for Wu to use for three years at no cost. The location is at a newly built luxurious apartment building, right across the Kaohsiung City Government, next to five-star hotels and schools. The price per ping in the sought-after area in Kaohsiung starts from NT$300,000. In other words, the lease of the storefront space costs NT$60 million. Wu was hesitant to receive such kind offer. Until he met with the land developer, he realized the generous businessman is also a Pingtung native. Knowing that Wu shares his bread-making secrets with other bakers, the land developer is also willing to offer the space for free, showing respect to the talented baker while taking care of his fellow townsman. But Wu needs to pay the property tax and building management fee on his own, which amounts to more than NT$30,000 per month. However, it is still a great deal. Through an image composition, we are able to imagine that the store will be filled with the smell of freshly baked bread and through the glass window, customers can witness first-hand how the champion baker works his magic in Kaohsiung. ◆ 追蹤更多華視影音及圖文新聞: 1.用Plurk追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤 2.用Twitter追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤
