Results of the inaugural Golden Comics Award were announced earlier this week, and this year's biggest winner is Lin Wei-ming, who walked off with two major prizes. She said her inspiration for the award-winning work originally came from a night market delicacy.

The Taiwan night market special food of fried chicken breast is cleverly blended into the comic, young comic illustrator Lin Wei Mings creative idea won her the first annual Golden Comic Awards best comic of the year and best comic for girls awards.

Lin got the inspiration from daily life experience.

The best regular comic winner is Yu tong ying, who spend his own money publishing the work of the Number 1 Room of the Building Resident.

After 30 years of experience in the comic industry, Chou Hsien Tsong took the award for best youth comic with his origami X warrior.

Local comic illustrator Liu Hsin Ching won the lifetime achievement award, who thinks that, facing competition from Japan and China, the government should try to retain talented artists in Taiwan.

Many comic artists hope that the award can encourage those in the industry while give assistance in multi channels of distributions and more, allowing those artists to help rebuilding the Taiwanese local comic market.
