Watch out for hidden dangers with plastic food packaging, because it is not that fantastic after all.

Studies show that when you heat your food in a plastic package, chemicals from the plastic are likely to pollute your food, which can cause great harm to your body in the long run.

Convenience stores commonly use microwaves to heat up burgers and lunchboxes.

This microwave heating is very convenient but one should be careful, because one can unconsciously be encountering harmful plasticizers that could leach into the hot food.

According to the newest study, these plasticizers can affect hormones with long-term excessive levels not only interfering with endocrine operations but can also make boys prone to more feminine behavior.

In addition, many people falsely think that harmful material from plastic bags, plastic wrap, plastic dishes as long as it is heated up in forms such as soup won't harm the body.

In fact, plasticizers are lipophilic substances, as long as it hits oil it dissolves so doctors recommend that plastic containers should avoid oily food, with plastic containers not being put into the microwave.

In order to safeguard public health, the Department of Health on the 6th of this month also issued a revised draft for food packaging containers with a revision for plastic food container standards for plasticizers DEHP and DBP lowered to 1.5ppm and 0.3ppm, respectively.

Although no quantitative studies have been carried out regarding the amount of plasticizers,

harmful effects have been found and besides using less plastic packaging, if one needs to use the microwave, one should put food in microwave safe containers.
