In the Kaohsiung mayoral race, recent interactions between PFP Chairman James Song and independent candidate Yang Chiu-hsing have left many suspecting a potential alliance between the two. But Song declined to confirm at this point whether he will throw his weight behind the ex-DPP politician.

There was a PFP city councilman election campaign activity in Kaohsiung city where its chairman James Sung, local political figure Lin Yuan Yuan , who is close to the PFP were present.

Greater Kaohsiung mayoral candidate, the former DPP member and current Kaohsiung County Magistrate Yang Chiu Hsing was also present. Sung said that he would support anyone based on ability to carry out the duties and not supporting the candidates based on party affiliation, which left room for publics imagination on the relationship between Yang and the PFP.
