Legislators are planning to list delegation chief of China's film industry, Jiang Ping as an unwelcomed person in Taiwan. Jiang Ping reportedly demanded Taiwan's attendees to present themselves as "Chinese Taipei" instead of "Taiwan" at the 23rd Tokyo International Film Festival. Premier Wu Den-Yih also showed his approval by saying that it is reasonable for the legislators to take such an action.

The Tokyo Film Festival was the scene of an uproar as the Chinese delegation deliberately prevented Taiwan stars from walking down the green carpet at the opening ceremony.

This action was initiated by China's Jiang Ping with Premier Wu Den-Yih criticizing this individual's actions as being outrageous.

In the morning, he was at the legislature supporting a proposal to make this individual a "persona non grata" in Taiwan.

A number of legislators are working together and Wu has stressed that if Jiang continues to take such actions that are unfriendly to Taiwan, it could cross-strait relations. The Executive Yuan is working to suppress this storm saying it is the action of Jiang Ping, temporarily ruling out the possibility that China is working behind the scenes.

Jiang Ping's remarks aroused great resentment in Taiwan, from the Presidential Office to the Executive Yuan, eliciting a response over this action in the international arena that has provoked antagonism and potentially affected cross-strait relations.
