A fifty-odd-year-old traditional movie house in Madou of Tainan County, the last of its kind in the community, officially closed earlier this month. And many local movie fans lined up around the theater on its last day of operation to bid it farewell. Tainan's Madou Theater opened more than half a century ago, and theater management recently announced that the theater would close its doors for good on November 1st. On Sunday, the theater sent its promotion trucks around the area as usual. Meanwhile, movie-goers lined up outside the theater to watch a film at the theater for the last time. As films played on the 20-year old projector, many said that it was a shame and that they wished the theater could stay open. A number of area businesses are also concerned that sales will plummet after the theater closes, and the owner of the theater says that he is trying to find ways to re-open the theater at a later date. In the meantime, pedestrians are stopping outside the structure to take pictures in case it is gone for good. ◆ 追蹤更多華視影音及圖文新聞: 1.用Plurk追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤 2.用Twitter追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤
