Under the assistance from Taichung City government and a local foundation, a group of homeless people can now stay off the streets for good.

A store has been established at the train station to sell traditional snacks, providing jobs for these new workers, who are optimistic and enthusiastic about it, regardless of the relatively low revenue.

You can hear loud greetings from these people, who are actively promoting their goods, while travelers are passing by. Many are walking into the crowd, providing pedestrians with a free taste of the different snacks that are sold in their store.

One man takes a large tray and tries to get people to sample the items, although constantly facing rejections, his persistence does occasionally work.

This shop, which is located at the corner of the Taichung Railway Station is managed by seven homeless people, and there, you can choose from a variety of foods, from icy desserts, to braised snacks.

Since business began in July, the average revenue remains around 30,000 NT to 40,000 NT, with November being their best month, after taking in more than 80,000 NT dollars.

Although the store is not earning money just yet, it has provided something to look forward to for these individuals who are determined to make it work.

And in showing support, the Taichung City government and a private foundation have ordered 1 million worth of gift certificates for traditional cakes in celebrating the upcoming new year.
