Through an online survey organized by the Construction and Planning Agency, the number one coast is in Wanli Township of Taipei County, while the not so appealing ones are mostly located in the western regions. Now, to save the damaged coasts, the government has decided to allocate around a hundred million NT dollars annually, in restoring the natural sceneries of Taiwan. Mr. and Mrs. Wang are here to have their wedding pictures taken, capturing the best of everything. The beautiful bay is located south of the Yehliu Geopark, which is the coast in Kuei-hou Village in Wanli Township, Taipei County. Recently it has been voted as the Venus of the Coast due to its unspoilt natural scenery. As a result, this has turned the area into a hotspot for tourists on weekends. Many people came here to admire the beautiful view, some even come to document it with their paint brushes. After Kuei-hou is Orchid Island, then Feng-bi Duan in Pingtung County, Ching-bi Tribe in Beigan, Liang Jiang County, then there are the Ching-shui Cliff in Hualien and Turtle Island in Yilan. All of which are located on the eastern coast of the island. On the other hand, the Cinderella of the Coasts are mostly on the western part of the island. The worst are Chei-ding Coast in Kaohsiung County, Dian-shih-cha Coast in Chijing, Kaohsiung City, the Western Coastal Provincial Highway No. 61, Sanding Barrier between Jiayi and Yunlin County, Tatu River mouth in Changhua and Sanyuan Coast in Taitung County. According to the Ministry of Interior, from now to 2014, the government will give NT$100 to 120m each year to assist the local governments in the area to restore the coastal and marine ecosystem. So far, there are 1566km coastal line in Taiwan and only 45% is natural coast. Hopefully through the restoration plan, more natural and unique coastal areas will be preserved and saved. ◆ 追蹤更多華視影音及圖文新聞: 1.用Plurk追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤 2.用Twitter追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤
