The Executive Yuan recently released the adjusted criteria of eligibility for the public housing program, trying to protect the rights of underprivileged households. However, some analysts have pointed out that the biggest problem of the program has less to do with its application requirements than with the locations of the housing units. Wanfang Community public housing rentals are for low-income families and are leased by Taipei City Government. It is assessed on an annual basis by DGBAS who adjusts the maximum family income to qualify. Those in Taiwan which qualify for the sale of public housing include those with annual household income of 1.03 mn NT$ can qualify, and in Taipei, a maximum of 1.58 million and in Kaohsiung, 1.11 million NT$. Those who want to rent public housing include a maximum annual income of 560,000 NT$ in Taiwan, and 990,000 in Taipei and 660,000 in Kaohsiung. The Ministry of the Interiors Construction and Planning Agency, said there are about 237 households waiting to be sold with locations ranging from Keelung, Taoyuan County and Hualien. But, because this housing is more than 15 years of age, and in remote locations, there is little interest in these properties. Meanwhile, in urban districts supply does not meet demand creating a polarizing situation. ◆ 追蹤更多華視影音及圖文新聞: 1.用Plurk追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤 2.用Twitter追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤
