With us currently in the Year of the Rabbit, a rabbit craze is expected to hit the island. Animal advocates are concerned about the sudden bunny fever, which may lead to a wave of abandoned pets as a consequence.

The rabbits at the Love Rabbit Association all share a painful past.

Take at look at this rabbit whose face is so thin that its like a triangle and its eyes are popping out with its hair falling out.

If no one told you this was a rabbit, you would never know given its current condition.

It became this way because its owner did not raise it properly.

Raising a rabbit is not difficult but some basic equipment within the cage cannot be overlooked.

One should also learn how to properly hold a rabbit.

One should hold it straight or horizontal, one should hold its back end, and one should not pinch the skin of its ears which can be painful for rabbits.

Rabbits may have a lovely appearance and attract a lot of people, but they can grow an inch overnight with some being amazed by its growth.

This may lead some people to discard these rabbits.

The Love Rabbit Association in 2010 in the Taipei area rescued 126 rabbits.

The association says that those who wish to raise rabbits should do it for a lifetime.

Also, it reminds everyone that there are lots of cute stray rabbits at the association waiting for a good home.
