To raise money for the quake victims in Japan,

Hidetoshi Nakata, the former Japanese football player, has personally made a TV appearance in our recent "Fight and Smile" fundraising event in Taiwan, and donated out his autographed sports items for an open auction.

The bidding price skyrocketed to 900 million NT dollars in less than one day, and after discovering that the offer was indeed a prank by Internet users, a new auction has been recreated. The organizers are now urging the public not to engage in inappropriate behavior, because it is for a good cause.

In order to help Japanese earthquake and tsunami victims, Japanese soccer star Hidetoshi Nakata donated a pair of autographed shoes to a charity auction.

Television director Wang Wei-chung won the auction with a 300,000 NT bid, and donated the shoes to an online charity auction.

Bidding began at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, and broke the 100 million NT mark in less than two hours.

Organizers were initially thrilled by the positive response, but later discovered that many of the bids were fake.

By that time, bidding had reached 900 million NT.

The auction was cancelled, and a new auction was set up for the following day.

Only verified members will be allowed to enter bids, and all proceeds from the sale will go to helping Japanese victims.
