As we celebrate Children's Day today in Taiwan, President Ma Ying-jeou is showing his support, by attending the event organized by the Ministry of the Interior. 100 families have been invited to tour the Flora Expo, symbolizing the need of giving a hundred percent when it comes to sustaining a happy family. Ma does not forget to encourage couples to boost the birth rate in Taiwan on this day, saying that "three" is the perfect number. "Starting from this year, five-year-olds will go to kindergarten for free. The government subsidies 14,000 NTD for each kid in public kindergartens, and 30,000 NTD for each in private kindergartens. We hope to alleviate some of the financial burdens for young parents, and hope they can give birth to one more or two more children. What do you say?" President Ma reiterates the free daycare policy for five-year-olds, and mentions the free interest loans for the young to buy property, which young people can enjoy two-year interest-free loan of 2 million NTD twice a lifetime. The government has many incentives to encourage giving birth, such as parental leaves and more, in the hope that young parents seize the opportunity to have more children. ◆ 追蹤更多華視影音及圖文新聞: 1.用Plurk追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤 2.用Twitter追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤
