The FAT Eastern Transport flight services are back in business, and we will be seeing more of their planes in the skies very soon. The first FAT aircraft in almost three years has taken off from Taipei to Kinmen this past Monday morning, and the company says that they are planning to open up the route to Cambodia, Palau and Makung of Penghu this coming May. Aside from the company's logo, this plane also has an ad, as this Far Eastern Air Transport Flight No. B28025 is slowly taxiing on the runway, and is departing Taipei's Sungshan Airport bound for Kinmen. After nearly three years, Far Eastern is taking to the skies again. Aviation fans held cameras and waited at the airport to document this historic moment. The inaugural flight was only for special guests and employees, with some taking the inaugural flight to enjoy free time in Kinmen. Far Eastern has retained the original company logo, but has redesigned the flight attendant-uniforms. They continue to be grey with a red skirt and red high heel shoes. Flight attendants had been grounded but had received a promise to come back to work. And when they put on these new uniforms it was a little difficult. Far Eastern will have two flights a day from Taipei to Kinmen and next it will continue to expand domestic routes as well as apply for other international routes. Far Eastern Air Transport has 10 aircraft and new aircraft will be introduced this year with staff rising from the current level of 500 people to 1,000 next year.
