Through a study conducted on more than 23,000 people across the U.S., researchers found that factors that put people at risk of getting a stroke, such as long-term high blood pressure, and old age can also contribute to memory and thinking problems. Researchers assess participants 10-year risk of having a stroke by measuring their age, blood pressure and whether they have diabetes, a history of heart disease or a thickening heart muscle. It is found that those who have higher chances of stroke are most likely to develop cognitive impairment in an average of four years. With that said, researchers are suggesting people to have a better control over their blood pressure and lifestyle, to lower the chances of getting strokes, which at the same time, can cut the risk of experiencing memory loss and dementia. ◆ 追蹤更多華視影音及圖文新聞: 1.用Plurk追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤 2.用Twitter追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤
