The death toll continues to rise, with more dead bodies washing ashore over the weekend. Typhoon Washi has since taken the lives of more than 1,200 people.
60-thousand residents have been left homeless after villages were completely wiped out by one of the worst storms in the country, which struck the southern region over a week ago.
Local fishermen have since joined in on the rescue mission to search for the 1,000 people that are still missing.
