Taipei City Hall's bus terminal has been officially opened to the public, and on its first day, commuters are already criticizing about the traffic congestion.

Most of the bus stops in front of the City Hall have been shifted into the terminal, and without clear instructions, it has caused many travelers to miss their rides.

The first day of the Taipei City government bus terminal service was faced with many complaints from passengers.

It is located at the corner of Chunghsiao East road and Keelung road; many passengers had to make detours to catch their buses.

The traffic around the area was a mess, even with added staff to direct traffic, some cars still parked illegally.

The new terminal is in the same building as MRT station, leaving only local city bus stops outside off the sidewalk.

Getting on and off taxi is also prohibited as well.

Taipei City Mayor Hou Long-bin said that after the initial period is over, traffic around the area should return to normal, if not, even better.

It is the second large scale bus terminal in Taipei city with more than long-haul 900 buses departing the terminal to 19 stops, including Keelung, Yilan, Taichung, and Tainan.

The passenger capacity is estimated to be around 10,000 people, however,

the waiting area is not spacious with only 2 rows of chairs.

It would be a test for the terminal this weekend when most people would use the terminal to go home.
