In the 1950s, an American missionary Lillian Dickson founded the Mustard Seed Inc. to take care of the disadvantaged in Taiwan. For decades, the organization has set up medical services, orphanages and vocational schools around the island to help those in need while spreading the message of love. Though Dickson passed away in 1983, her great legacy still lives on to this very day.

The American missionary Lillian Dickson helped many Taiwanese in the 60s and 70s, who set up Taiwan's first social welfare group called the Mustard Seed Inc.

Whether helping orphans, especially those with physical disabilities, or setting up hospitals in the eastern Taiwan,

caring for the indigenous people with lung disease, ect, Dickson believes it is more important to teach people how to fish then giving them the food.

Dickson also taught young nurses to go back to their hometowns to service their local neighbors, in addition, she also trained many kindergarten teachers to let them gain more job skills.

In the old documentary, many great things Dickson did for Taiwan and Taiwanese minorities were documented.

Dickson passed away in 1983 and was buried in Taiwan. Everything she did in the past will be like mustard seeds, growing in Taiwanese society.
