The fourth stage development project of the Central Taiwan Science Park was given the greenlight to resume after a successful appeal to the Supreme Court by the National Science Council and the Environmental Protection Administration. But on the other hand, the court also ruled that work on the third stage project should remain suspended. Back in late July, the Taipei high administration court ruled that the Taiwan central science parks 3rd and 4th stages developments need to stop based on environmental reasons. In August, environmental protection Administration, National Science council and Management Bureau of Taiwan Central Science park jointly filed a lawsuit and the result was that, the court dismissed the ruling on the 4th stage development case, which the Science park management Bureau said the development would resume as soon as possible. The location of the 4th stage case is in ChangHua countys Erh-Lin, where Shian Si Liao farmers are strongly against the case and controversy rose even after Premier Wu Dehn Yi paid a visit in August, promise that the village would stay intact and farm land would be trade with same size of land, however, according to lawyer, the 4th stage environmental assessment impact report still shows some problems with the case, thus they would continue to file the lawsuit. On the other hand, the controversial Chi shin farm, where some of the companies have already moved in and they would take the approach of stopping work but not stopping production. The environmental impact assessment of Chi Shin farm has already be approved as of August 31st and is expected to allow the 3rd stage development case to continue soon.
