Wedding bells are ringing for well-known social activist Ke Tsi-hai, who is scheduled to walk down the aisle with girlfriend Chang Mei-dan in Hualien today. And the usually cool and ferocious protester gave the media a rare glimpse of his softer side during his pre-wedding photo shoot yesterday.

The man who was once best known for chasing the spotlight is now camera-shy. After announcing his wedding plans at the beginning of this month, the 54-year-old social activist Ke Tsi-hai is ready to tie the knot with girlfriend Chang Mei-dan on November 23rd.

And the happy couple took time for their prenuptial photo shoot on Monday. While the groom looked a bit stiff and robotic due to nerves, the bride was much more relaxed and composed, living up to her reputation of being a corporate version of supermodel Ling Chi-ling. And she told the reporters its the softer side of her fiance that has won her over.

"He's so considerate."

"Just ask your wives back home whether they want you to be considerate too."

But true to his spirit as a veteran protester, Ke also took the chance to show his support for Taiwanese Taekwondo athlete Yang Shu-chun, holding his trademark signs that read "Say no to Korean products for Yangs sake."

So, married man or not, the urge to protest is always in his blood.
