The Human Rights Day is celebrated around the globe every year on December 10th. On this meaningful event, Jingmei Human Rights Memorial and Cultural Park will hold an exhibition, which will display artifacts provided by the families of political victims, in hoping to give the public a greater under

These two marriage certificates were issued ten years apart. In 1967, military judge Lu Kuo-min was imprisoned for supporting democratic presidential elections.

His wife, Lu-Hung Shu-nu, passed the civil service exam but the government refused to issue her a license. The couple therefore had no choice but to file for divorce.

This exhibit at Jingmei Human Rights Memorial and Cultural Park tells their story. The park was built on the former site of the Jingmei Detention Center.

He says that he wants today's youths to understand that sacrifices were made for Taiwan's democracy and human rights. Exhibits at the park include executive registries, handcuffs, fetters, and prison cages.
