And before the mergers take effect, there will first be a large-scale personnel reshuffle in the police forces around Taiwan. So far it has been revealed that while the current police commissioners of Taipei and Kaohsiung will stay in office, Xin Bei, Taoyuan, Taichung and Tainan will each have a new police chief. After the completion of five municipal electionsd, the police force in these areas will see a major reshuffling amongst high ranking officers. Many speculate that Taipei City Police Commissioner Hsieh Hsiu-neng will remain in office as will Kaohsiung City Police Commissioner Tsai Chun-chang. Xin Bei City will see former National Police Administration Deputy Director Yi Yong-ren take over, and Taoyuan County will see another NPA Deputy Director Liu Chin-Chang take over. Taichung City Police Commissioner will be former Aviation Police Chief Diao Chien-shen, and Tainan City will see former Highway Police Chief, Chen Tzu-jing take over. It is rumored thatNational Police Agency Director-General Wang Cho-chiun in recent days had consulted with these six local leaders, and according to seniority determined by the police force and other ethical concerns as well as input from cities and counties had approved the National Police Administration's decision. Tainan City Mayor-elect Lai Ching-te said that Wang had asked him for advice as he respected Wang's ability, integrity and familiarity with local affairs thought he had not told him the final candidates for Tainan City Police Commissioner. For local government officials, the police commissioners ability to cooperate with local leaders and carry out securty and governance will be the key to their work. Still, the inability to choose their own candidates leaves many to feel the process is lacking as they simply must respect the rights of the National Police Administration. ◆ 追蹤更多華視影音及圖文新聞: 1.用Plurk追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤 2.用Twitter追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤
