On the first working day after the city-county merger of Kaohsiung, the former county government was officially renamed "Fengshan Administration Center." To ease the staff's anxiety over marginalization, Mayor Chen Chu announced that she will spend half her time working in the center, while promising to protect all the employees' rights and benefits.

Kaohsiung mayor Chen Chu presided over the unveiling ceremony of Fengshan administrative center on the first working day after Kaohsiung City and County upgraded and merged.

She tried to motivate basic civil servants and keep them calm.

The mayor stressed that it would be a transitional period for all the merger.

To achieve the goal of seamless integration, she would spend half her time working in Fengshan.

Afterwards, she paid a visit to her new office, though none of her strategiests stationed there yet.

Some bureaus are busy packing documents and sorting out the environment.

Originally supervised by Kaohsiung County's Agricultural Bureau, the Fishery managemenet division is to be supervised under Kaohsiung City Marine Bureau.

Formerly Kaohsiung County Tourism and Transportation Bureau will be divided and merged with three different bureaus of Kaohsiung City.

The Fengshan administrative center is busy sorting out things on the first working day after the merger, while bureau chiefs are getting to know their new coworkers.

The public is keepin an eye on whether the newly upgraded government can fulfill its promises of making seamless integration possible.
