Affected by the La Nina condition, the winter this year has been particularly cold. With the chilly days coming to an end, the Center Weather Bureau forecasts that the rainfall this spring will be less than average, but the typhoon season may start earlier. Due to the effects of La Nina, this winter has been the coldest one in 15 years. Suao and Wuchi recorded new lows in average daily temperatures in January, but the Central Weather Bureau says that La Nina is gradually weakening. Accumulated rainfall this spring is expected to be slightly less than usual until the plum rain season, but the typhoon season will arrive earlier than usual as well. At the same time, spring's frontal systems will still form around Taiwan and torrential rains and thunderstorms will occur. The public is reminded to pay attention to weather forecasts and warnings and take preventative measures when necessary. Temperatures will fall by around ten degrees starting on Tuesday and the northeast monsoon will strengthen. Higher humidity and the cold front will bring cool weather to the island and rain to northern and central Taiwan. ◆ 追蹤更多華視影音及圖文新聞: 1.用Plurk追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤 2.用Twitter追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤
