The heavy rains over the last few days are to blame for a series of disasters in Liugui Township of Kaoshiung, including the rise the river's water level, and the rockfall in the mountainous areas.

The local government has already dispatched bulldozers in helping with the situation, but residents still fear that the continuous rain will lead to more devastation.

Debris and rocks fell from the slope, forming a massive and slow landslide, which extends to the road surface.

As heavy rain continues, rocks fell on traffic access to the mountainous areas of Liugui.

The landslide scares local residents.

The township office worried he road slope would collapse even more and quickly sent excavators to fix the falling rocks.

Torrential rains also lead to rapid river water in Liugui.

A thick layer of mud has been accumulated over one night.

Residents worry the river may be flooded again soon.

Those who have excavators quickly help out the dredging operations.

The residents in Liugui are on their toes as it's just one year after the devastating 88 flooding and they've finally had a stable life.

They really don't want that the heavy rain and wind take away what they have now.
